Take a moment during each lesson to check in with your students.
Observation
- Do students understand the difference between a body part and a sense? Do they say “ear” or “hearing,” “nose” or “smell/smelling”? Can they name examples of sensory input?
ORAL CHECK
- “Who can name which of the eight senses they like best?” or “Give an example of sensory input you find pleasant.”
Worksheet
- Are the illustrations placed with the correct senses? Is there at least one type of input written for each sense? Do the answers show an emerging awareness of sensory preferences?
